Common, all'anagrafe Lonnie Rashid Lynn Jr., è un rapper, produttore discografico, attore e scrittore statunitense nato a Chicago nel 1972. Inizialmente noto come Common Sense, ha debuttato nel 1994 con l'album "Resurrection", che lo ha consacrato come uno dei rapper più talentuosi della scena hip-hop contemporanea. Common è noto per le sue rime introspettive e poetiche, spesso incentrate su temi sociali e politici. Ha collaborato con artisti di fama mondiale come Kanye West, John Legend e Erykah Badu. Nel 2006 ha vinto il suo primo Grammy Award per la canzone "The People", tratta dall'album "Be". Tra i suoi album più importanti ricordiamo "Like Water for Chocolate" (2000), "Electric Circus" (2002) e "Finding Forever" (2007). Oltre alla musica, Common ha recitato in diversi film, tra cui "Selma", per il quale ha vinto un Oscar nel 2015.
