Emerse negli anni '90 con un sound hip hop caratterizzato da rime intricate e testi spesso ironici e satirici. Il suo album di debutto, *Legalize It*, pubblicato nel 1991, raggiunse il successo commerciale grazie al singolo "I Got It Made".
