Conosciuto per il suo stile di hip hop definito "acid rap", Esham fonde beat influenzati dal rock con testi che affrontano temi controversi come suicidio, morte, droga, violenza, paranoia e sesso. La sua musica spesso presenta una vena oscura e disturbante, caratterizzata da un flow aggressivo e rime intricate.
