Saxon è una band heavy metal britannica originaria di Barnsley, Yorkshire, formatasi nel 1976. I componenti fondatori provenivano dai gruppi Son of a Bitch e Coast. Considerati uno dei pilastri del movimento NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal), Saxon ha raggiunto grande popolarità negli anni '80 con album come "Wheels of Steel" (1980) e "Strong Arm of the Law" (1982). Il loro sound, caratterizzato da riff heavy, melodie accattivanti e un'energia esuberante, ha influenzato numerose band metal successive. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Saxon figurano "Motorcycle Man", "Princess of the Night" e "747 (Strangers in the Night)". La band continua ad essere attiva fino ai giorni nostri, pubblicando nuovi album e girando concerti in tutto il mondo.
