Gli Orphanage sono stati un gruppo musicale olandese di genere gothic metal attivo dal 1993 al 2004. Il loro sound, caratterizzato da atmosfere cupe e melodie malinconiche, ha saputo coniugare elementi del doom metal con influenze progressive e symphonic. Il gruppo ha pubblicato tre album in studio: "The Coldest Winter" (1996), "A Shadow of the Past" (2000) e "The Last Embrace" (2003). Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Darkest Hour", "Tears of Sorrow" e "Embrace the Night". Orphanage hanno condiviso il palco con band come Tristania, Theatre of Tragedy e Moonspell.
