Asphyx è una band olandese di death metal, attiva dal 1986. Considerati pionieri del genere, hanno contribuito a definire il suono brutale e atmosferico del death metal europeo. Con un'estetica dark e testi spesso ispirati alla storia antica e al folklore, Asphyx ha pubblicato una serie di album di successo, tra cui "The Rack" (1996), "Death... The Brutal Truth" (2000) e "Necroceros" (2007). Il loro sound è caratterizzato da riff pesanti, batteria potente e growl gutturali. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Last One on Earth", "The Solemn Oath" e "Death... The Brutal Truth".
