Darkane è una band di metal melodico/progressive thrash originaria di Helsingborg, Svezia, formatasi nel 1998 (precedentemente nota come Agretator). La loro musica presenta abbondanti elementi thrash intervallati da interludi acustici e caratteristiche sinfoniche, come l'uso in studio di sintetizzatori e occasionalmente orchestre complete e cori. Il nome Darkane è un portmanteau delle parole 'dark' e 'arcane'. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano 'The Fallen', 'In The Shadow of the Sun' e 'Leave This World Behind'.
