Steve Hackett (nato Stephen Richard Hackett il 12 ottobre 1951) è un chitarrista, cantante e compositore britannico, considerato uno dei pilastri del rock progressivo. Dopo aver iniziato a suonare la chitarra all'età di sette anni, si è fatto notare per le sue abilità tecniche e melodiche. Nel 1971 ha sostituito Anthony Phillips nei Genesis, contribuendo alla band con un sound più strumentale e virtuosistico. Con i Genesis ha inciso otto album di grande successo, tra cui "Selling England by the Pound", "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" e "A Trick of the Tail". Nel 1977, dopo una serie di divergenze creative, Hackett ha lasciato i Genesis per intraprendere la carriera solista. La sua musica solista è caratterizzata da un approccio fusion che fonde elementi di rock progressivo, jazz, world music e classica. Tra i suoi album più noti figurano "Spectral Mornings", "Voyage of the Acolyte" e "Defector". Hackett continua a registrare e esibirsi in tutto il mondo, mantenendo una fedele base di fan grazie alla sua tecnica chitarristica impeccabile e alla sua capacità di creare atmosfere evocative. Alcuni dei suoi brani più rappresentativi sono: "Every Day", "Narnia", "Clocks - The Angel of Mons".
Nella terza edizione di "Nuova Scena", talent dedicato al mondo rap in onda su Netflix, si sono aggiudicati la vittoria i cosentini Flextony e Tigerplug.

E' prevista per la prossima estate l'uscita del docufilm "Iron Maiden's Lost Singer", che riguarda Paul Di'Anno, cantante degli Iron Maiden dal 1978 al 1981, che è venuto a mancare a fine 2024.
