The Rentals sono un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1995 a Los Angeles, California. Il nucleo del progetto è costituito da Matt Sharp, celebre per il suo ruolo di bassista nei Weezer durante gli anni '90. Sharp ha fondato The Rentals come una sorta di laboratorio creativo parallelo al lavoro con i Weezer, esplorando sonorità più elettroniche e pop-rock.
