George Benson è un chitarrista e cantante statunitense nato a St. Louis, Missouri, nel 1943. Considerato uno dei più grandi chitarristi jazz di tutti i tempi, ha saputo conquistare il pubblico con una fusione di jazz, R and B e pop. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60 suonando con gruppi come The Jack McDuff Trio e partecipando a sessioni di registrazione per artisti come Aretha Franklin e Al Green. Nel 1976 raggiunse l'apice del successo con l'album "Breezin'", che includeva il singolo "This Masquerade", diventato un classico internazionale. Benson ha vinto dieci Grammy Awards, tra cui quello per la migliore performance jazz strumentale nel 1980 per "Give Me The Night". Tra i suoi album più importanti ricordiamo anche "The Benson Bunch" (1972), "Love Ballad" (1976) e "In Your Eyes" (1983). Oltre alla sua carriera musicale, Benson è noto per la sua attività di compositore e produttore.
