I ain't trying to be nothing but me, I said to 'em
But they keep pushing, pushing me up that hill
And I've had my shares of ups and downs
I've been 'round and 'round
I've loved and I've lost
But I keep making, making up my mind
And it took a little time for me to figure out
That I'm never really ever gonna figure it out
So I keep wasting all my time
And oh, I've been down a lonely road
And when I go, just lay my body cold
And dance around it like the children in the sun
Just keep in mind that I'll be looking on
I hope that someday I'll get peace of mind
I just needed a little time, I just needed a little time
I hope that someday I'll look back and smile
I just needed a little time, I just needed a little time
I never really got the time that I needed to do it
But I got through it, through it all before
And I was freer than a bird once but I never knew it
So I blew it, trying to get it all
And oh, I've been down a lonely road
And when I go, just lay my body cold
And dance around it like the children in the sun
Just keep in mind that I'll be looking on
I hope that someday I'll get peace of mind
I just needed a little time, I just needed a little time
I hope that someday I'll look back and smile
I just needed a little time, I just needed a little time
But I hope someday I'll get that peace of mind I've been looking for
But for now I need a little time to grow
And I know, I'll finally get the chance to drive that open road
But for now, I'll just keep working for my ghost
I hope that someday I'll get peace of mind
I just needed a little time, I just needed a little time
I hope that someday I'll look back and smile
I just needed a little time, I just needed a little time
