Abyssos è un gruppo musicale di death metal formatosi in Germania negli anni '90. Il gruppo si distingue per la sua atmosfera cupa e atmosferica, influenzata dal black metal e dalla musica classica. Tra i membri più noti figura Chris Rehn, che ha collaborato con altri gruppi del genere come Dark Funeral. L'album di debutto "Fhinsthanian Nightbreed" (1996) è considerato un classico del death metal underground. Altri album importanti includono "Together We Summon the Dark" (2000) e "Wherever the Witches Might Fly" (2003). Abyssos continua ad essere attivo, pubblicando nuovi album e partecipando a festival di musica heavy metal in tutto il mondo.
