Acheron è una black metal band statunitense formatasi nel 1993 a New York. Considerata una delle più influenti del genere, Acheron ha contribuito a definire l'estetica e la sonorità del black metal americano con un approccio crudo e aggressivo. Il gruppo è noto per le sue atmosfere oscure e mistiche, i testi spesso incentrati su temi di morte, demoniaco e occultismo. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Serpent's Curse", "Blood of the Covenant" e "Black Winds of Doom". Acheron ha pubblicato numerosi album in studio, tra cui "Towards the Darkest Hour" (1996) e "Antichrist" (2003), che hanno consolidato la loro posizione nel panorama del black metal mondiale.
