Yesterday was so funny, babe
I was walking on the street
With a smile on my face
Carried by my tortuous thoughts
With 4 or 5 worries at most
Then in a corner of the street
I saw a man who staggered a bit
"Remember that I watch the stars"
He said
"Remember that I watch the stars"
So my mind stopped at once to float and
I eyed the sun with no stars shining
But they were what he really saw
Yeah, they were what he really saw
And I thought, well
There are some days that
I cannot explain
That don't make sense
But I just wanna live them at best
Yeah, I just wanna live them at best
The best that I am
And then I met an Indian blind man
He was sitting on the broken piggy ruins
Of a bed
His hands were waves of rings
And of veins and other strange things
Under his nails
He stopped me and said:
"I've been married for 8 times
Had a thousand children in my life
As God knows because of faith
This is what now remains
But I don't care, I'm not sad
That's why I'm sitting laughing on this bed"
And I thought, well
There are some days that
I cannot explain
That don't make sense
But I just wanna live them at best
Yeah, I just wanna live them at best
The best that I am
The last thing that I want you to know
Was told me by a lady with a look "si rètro"
She took a glance at me, before
And then she threw her bag on the floor
She said "I'm 66 years old
And when you walk on the street
And you're all alone
Everything that doesn't hurt you is rock
Yeah everything that doesn't hurt you is rock"
And that's what I am
It's a funny day
Funny as me
