Gli U.D.O. sono un gruppo heavy metal tedesco formatosi nel 1987 da Udo Dirkschneider, celebre voce degli Accept fino al 1987. Dirkschneider ha dato vita a questo nuovo progetto dopo la sua uscita dagli Accept, portando con sé uno stile musicale potente e aggressivo, caratterizzato da riff di chitarra martellanti e testi in inglese che affrontano temi come il potere, la libertà e la lotta contro le ingiustizie. Gli U.D.O. hanno pubblicato una decina di album in studio, ottenendo un seguito fedele nel mondo metal. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Animal Heart", "They Want War", e "Manowar". L'album "Faceless World" del 1989 è considerato uno dei loro lavori più importanti. La band ha collaborato con numerosi artisti, tra cui gli ex-Accept Peter Baltes e Stefan Kaufmann.
