Devin Garrett Townsend è un musicista canadese nato nel 1972, noto per la sua versatilità musicale che spazia dal progressive metal al jazz fusion, passando per l'electronica e il rock sperimentale. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '90 con la band Strapping Young Lad, caratterizzata da un sound heavy e aggressivo.
