Richard Paul Ashcroft (Manchester, 11 settembre 1971) è un cantautore e musicista britannico, principalmente conosciuto come frontman del gruppo rock alternativo The Verve. Ashcroft ha una voce potente e riconoscibile, spesso descritta come soul-rock. Dopo lo scioglimento dei The Verve nel 1999, Ashcroft ha intrapreso una carriera solista di successo, pubblicando diversi album che hanno riscosso apprezzamento sia dalla critica che dal pubblico. Tra i suoi brani più famosi ci sono "Bittersweet Symphony", "Lucky Man" e "Sonnet". La sua musica è caratterizzata da atmosfere introspettive, testi poetici e influenze psichedeliche.
