It bring me tears of joy to be the man that you need
Working every day to be the best I can be
Never did I think that I could make it this far
Some women back home still dealing with scars
Broke a lot of hearts on Boulevard
Looking back at my past and all the pain that I caused
What about her heart did I consider at all?
Never really meant to get your feelings involved
Cleaned up all my ways and all the things that I do
Hope I never gotta see my karma in you
You deserve someone who's gonna tell you the truth
Happy that that's something I can actually do
I never thought that this could be
I'm happy that you're so happy
Truth is that I
Really wasn't always a guy like this
A lot of women had to cry for you to smile like this
A lot of feelings had to die for you to thrive like this
For you to look at me with pride and see a guy like this
I love to see you smile when you smile like this
How I got you feeling inside like this
I'm happy that I'm able to be a guy like this
A lot of hearts had to break for you to smile like this(Yeah)
(Uh, a lot of hearts had to break for you to smile like this)
Tripping to the islands, it's just me and my girl
You can have it all, I wanna give you the world
Put you in Dior, get you diamonds and pearls
Never have to ask, it's just what you deserve
Used to think I'd always be stuck in my ways
'Til I found you, you're the one to blame
Looking back now, I made a lot of mistakes
Someone that my exes probably hate, yeah
You and I knew I had some issues with commitment
All I could do now is ask the Lord for forgiveness
Lord, grant forgiveness, please grant forgiveness to me
That's the old me, that ain't really how I'm moving
See, you never met the type of nigga that she knew
'Cause I tell you the truth, and the truth is that I
Really wasn't always a guy like this
A lot of women had to cry for you to smile like this
A lot of feelings had to die for you to thrive like this
For you to look at me with pride and see a guy like this
I love to see you smile when you smile like this
How I got you feeling inside like this
I'm happy that I'm able to be a guy like this
A lot of hearts had to break for you to smile like this
(Yeah)
(Uh, a lot of hearts had to break for you to smile like this)
