The Coup è un gruppo musicale di hip hop politico statunitense originario di Oakland, California. Fondato nel 1991 da Raymond "Boots" Riley (voce) e Eric "E-Roc" Davis (rap), il gruppo ha subito una significativa evoluzione nel corso degli anni. Dopo l'uscita di E-Roc dopo il secondo album, la formazione si è stabilizzata con l'aggiunta della DJ Pam the Funkstress.
