All that was left of her clothing was a piece of rag around her neck; other parts of her had just been blown off. Even her toes were missing. I covered her with my combat jacket and carried her out to an ambulance.

dEUS è un gruppo rock belga formatosi ad Anversa nel 1987. Il nucleo originale del gruppo, composto da Tom Barman (voce, chitarre) e Klaas Janszoons (tastiere, violino), rimane attivo fino ad oggi. Nel corso degli anni la formazione ha visto l'ingresso di altri musicisti, tra cui Stephane Misseghers (batteria), Alan Gevaert (basso) e Mauro Pawlowski (chitarra, cori). dEUS è considerato uno dei gruppi rock belgi più influenti e di successo, noto per il suo sound alternativo caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e arrangiamenti complessi. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Architect", "Little by Little" e "Silence Is Golden". L'album di debutto del gruppo, "Worst Case Scenario", risale al 1992.
