Amy Macdonald è una cantautrice scozzese nata a Bishopbriggs il 25 agosto 1987. Ha raggiunto la fama internazionale con il suo album di debutto, *This Is the Life*, pubblicato nel 2007 e venduto a oltre 3 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo. Il primo singolo estratto dall'album, "Poison Prince", è stato un successo immediato. Macdonald è nota per le sue melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e la sua voce potente. Tra i suoi brani più famosi figurano anche "This Is the Life", "Run" e "The Right Thing To Do". Il suo stile musicale si colloca principalmente nel folk-rock con influenze pop.
