Ensiferum è una band finlandese di folk metal proveniente da Helsinki. Fondata nel 1997, il gruppo si definisce "heroic folk metal", un sottogenere che fonde sonorità melodiche con elementi classici del heavy metal e influenze folcloristiche scandinava. Ensiferum ha pubblicato quattro album in studio, un EP, una compilation, tre singoli e tre demo. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "From Afar", "One Man Army" e "In My Sword I Trust". L'album di debutto, "Iron", risale al 2001, seguito da "Victory Songs" (2004) e "Tannhäuser Gates" (2009). Il gruppo è noto per le sue performance dal vivo energiche e coinvolgenti, che spesso includono elementi teatrali e coreografie. Ensiferum ha collaborato con artisti come Tarja Turunen dei Nightwish.
