Baby it's been quiet here without you
Since our love split up and parted ways
I just watch the time pass by the hour
And the hazy nights turn into days
Guess you think that Im some kinda moron
Guess youve told your friends that Im a freak
Guess youve told them all about my secrets
Guess youve made them think that Im so weak
it's a shame about the weather
it's a shame about the crime
it's a shame about elvis
it's a shame about the times
it's a shame that the stories
You have heard of me are true
it's a damn shame but most of all
it's a shame Im losing you
Oh it's a damn shame about you
Baby does it ever make you wonder
How we ever came to get this far
Living in a time warp with a nosebleed
Nothing ever seemed to be too hard
Baby are you happy where you are now
Let me know cos I have no idea
You should know I love you til it kills me
But you're better off without old me
it's a shame about the weather
it's a shame about the crime
it's a shame about elvis
it's a shame about the times
it's a shame that the stories
You have heard of me are true
it's a damn shame but most of all
it's a shame Im losing you
Oh it's a damn shame about you
it's such a damn old shame
And here we go again
it's such a damn old shame
We got ourselves to blame
Hauling ourselves through pain
We got it going again
it's such a damn old shame
it's a shame about the weather
it's a shame about the crime
it's a shame about elvis
it's a shame about the times
it's a shame that the stories
You have heard of me are true
it's a damn shame but most of all
it's a shame Im losing you
Oh it's a damn shame about you
