Voivod è una band canadese di thrash metal formatasi a Jonquière, Quebec, nel 1981. Considerati pionieri del genere con influenze punk e progressive, sono noti per le loro sonorità sperimentali, i testi fantascientifici e la complessa struttura musicale. Il gruppo ha attraversato diverse fasi stilistiche, passando dal thrash metal classico ai suoni più progressivi e avant-garde. Tra gli album più importanti figurano *Killing Technology* (1987), *Dimension Hatross* (1988) e *Angel Rat* (1995). Voivod ha collaborato con artisti come Devin Townsend e Mike Patton, e il loro impatto sul genere thrash metal è stato significativo. Alcuni dei brani più rappresentativi sono 'Astronomy Domine', 'Tribal Dance' e 'The End of Dormancy'.
