Billy Talent è una rock band canadese formatasi nel 1993 con il nome originale di Pezz. I membri, che si conoscevano fin dalle scuole superiori, registrarono alcuni demo prima del loro primo album ufficiale del 1998. Il disco, intitolato *Watoosh!*, fu pubblicato indipendentemente e ottenne un discreto successo locale, ma non riuscì a raggiungere una popolarità nazionale.
