General Public è stato un gruppo musicale britannico formatosi nel 1984 da Dave Wakeling e Ranking Roger, rispettivamente vocalist e rapper di The Beat. Il loro stile musicale era una fusione di ska, reggae e rock, con influenze pop e dance. General Public ha ottenuto successo internazionale con album come "General Public" (1985) e "Hand to Mouth" (1987), che hanno prodotto singoli popolari come "Never You Done Me Wrong", "I'm the One", e "Think About It". Il gruppo si è sciolto nel 1990, ma Wakeling ha continuato a pubblicare musica sotto il nome di General Public.
