Jimmy Layne Webb (nato il 15 agosto 1946 ad Elk City, Oklahoma) è un cantautore statunitense di grande successo. Le sue composizioni, spesso caratterizzate da melodie evocative e testi poetici, hanno segnato la storia della musica americana. Tra le sue canzoni più famose figurano "Up, Up and Away", "By the Time I Get to Phoenix", "Wichita Lineman", "Galveston" e "MacArthur Park". Le sue opere sono state interpretate da artisti di fama mondiale come Glen Campbell, The 5th Dimension, Thelma Houston, The Supremes, Richard Harris, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Isaac Hayes, R.E.M. e Chet Atkins. Secondo la BMI, il suo brano "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" è stato il terzo più eseguito tra il 1940 e il 1990. Webb è l'unico artista ad aver vinto Grammy Awards per musica, testi e arrangiamento.
