Testo Mansioned Chin Up Chin Up

Mansioned

I am making you a desert,
You are blinded by rehearsals.
We drink draft beer under bankrupt chandeliers.
We can't drown out the extras,
The stagehands will leave us
Stains in the mirror.

Mansioned, but still near.
These are improved Halloweens
With cameos of scenes
Where we lost our hometown
And dried up all the rebounds.
And the curtains they will hurt
When they block out all the earth.
If no one can see then there's no one left to be.

If there are trees left in the desert
Then we can't be looking backwards
As we climb to the clear
And rob all that's near.

Places we thought we knew
And forests we thought grew
Circadian rhythms that we were never meant to live in.
I am making you a desert,
You are blinded by rehearsals.
We drink draft beer under bankrupt chandeliers.
We can't drown out the extras,
The stagehands will leave us
Stains in the mirror.

Mansioned, but still near.
We have a hitch,
But nothing to tow us through,
And I'm living for you
Under jets that are slower than us.
We walk through hills,
We make houses,
Replicas of porches without views to remind us
Of styrofoam eyes and screen door lies,
But it will be all right,
But it will be all right.
