Was thirty-three, had demons since eighteen
He tried to beat 'em but never would they flee
He never could break free until he finally did it
It was inspiring, I hit the crib and got to vibe with?him
Told?me'that it's notàjust him
He was?a different person
Understood he wasn't perfect
But, I could tell he's working on it
Try'na be all positive when I've been a mess
I can't let him know I'm depressed
Can't let him know I've been stressed
Can't let him know that I'm human, I'm losing it just like him (Just like him)
Feel like the world will fuck with people like us
We'll never win
Oh Michael
You were young only yesterday
So as you lie in your resting place
Just make sure you remember me (Remember me)
Said we were only kids back then (Back then)
Wish I could feel like I did back then (Back then)
Ridin' in the van rollin' up a L (Rollin' up a L)
Buy another gram roll another L (Roll another L)
I apologize in advance for putting you through hell
You were just my older cousin I thought I knew you so well
But, yeah
You knew that heroin a little better
And I could blame America or blame whoever
I could blame you, and you could blame me
Either way you slice it, it's still the same thing
Oh Michael
You were young only yesterday
So as you lie in your resting place
Just make sure you remember me (Remember me)
Okay I hate to be the bearer of bad news
I was a pallbearer
I carried you to your final resting place
I buried the case
I don't really need to hear the story more
Pretty sure I got the full report
I'ma miss you like hell
Never got to have no children ourselves
Looked at your face at the wake thinking different as hell
You told me I was gifted
Michael promise I'm am not gon' fail
Just keep an eye on me up there
Let me know it's real
Yeah
Oh Michael (Oh Micheal)
You were young only yesterday (Yesterday)
So as you lie in your resting place (Resting Place)
Just make sure you remember me (Remember me)
Ain't nothing sweet
Ain't nothing sweet
Oh Michael
You were young only yesterday
So as you lie in your resting place
Just make sure you remember me (Remember me)
Remember me
Remember me
