Jimmy Buffett (1946-2023) è stato un cantautore, musicista e scrittore statunitense, noto per il suo stile musicale definito "Parrothead", che fonde elementi di country, folk, rock e calypso. Nato a Pascagoula, Mississippi, Buffett ha trascorso la sua infanzia in diverse località degli Stati Uniti prima di stabilirsi a Key West, Florida, dove ha iniziato la sua carriera musicale negli anni '70. Il suo successo è legato a brani come "Margaritaville", "Come Monday" e "Cheeseburger in Paradise", che hanno reso Buffett un'icona della cultura americana, associata a un'atmosfera rilassata e paradisiaca. Oltre alla musica, Buffett ha scritto diversi libri di narrativa e saggistica, tra cui il best-seller "A Pirate Looks at Forty".
