He had a wife, he had a girl friend
Tip-toeing thru his whole life in a whirwind
She found it out one day and her attorney took away
His truck His house and band account and that bed he cheated in
He put that dusty cowboy hat with payback on his mind
And that cute redheaded stranger, well she outta do just fine
Hes just lookin for the next ex thing
She had a husband. He had a girlfriend
She took him down so fast it made his head spin
Their case was good as gold when that red headed temper showed
He left her sittin pretty with a grudge against all men.
She put on theat sexy dancing dress with payback on her mind
And that cowboy starin at her, well he outta do just fine
Shes just looking for the nexy ex thing
Lets get ready to rumble
Two heartache champs in the ring
There's gonna be an explosion when the gas meets the open flame
And that's just what you get when you are lookin for the next ex-thing
Bought her a drink. Asked her to dance
And they two stepped down that rocky road to romance
They heated up her ex's truck out in the parkin lot
It was 'Oh, Yes Sir' and 'Excuse me, Honey'.
And wham bam thank you mame'
She gave him a phoney number and he promised he'd call
And they walked back in that honkey tonk like they just won it all. And went back looking for the next ex thing
Lets get ready to rumble!
Two hearthache champs in the ring
Theres gonna be an explosion when that gas meets the open flame
And thats just what you get when you are looking for the next ex thing
