The Wildhearts sono un gruppo rock originario di Newcastle upon Tyne, in Inghilterra. Il loro sound è una miscela di hard rock e musica pop melodica, spesso descritto dalla stampa musicale come una combinazione di influenze così diverse come The Beatles e Metallica degli anni '80. Tuttavia, questa caratterizzazione viene smentita dalla band, che considera le proprie influenze molto più ampie, come mostrato nella canzone "29 X The Pain", che elenca molte delle influenze del leader del gruppo Ginger. Nonostante diversi singoli top 20 e un album top 10 in Gran Bretagna, i Wildhearts non hanno raggiunto un grande successo commerciale, in parte a causa di difficoltà con le case discografiche e molti problemi interni spesso legati a droghe ricreative e depressione. Gran parte della carriera iniziale del gruppo è stata segnata da aspri contrasti con la loro casa discografica, East West.
