Major Lazer è un progetto musicale dancehall elettronica fondato nel 2008 dal DJ e produttore discografico statunitense Diplo. Inizialmente una collaborazione con il DJ Switch, le strade si sono divise nel 2011. Attualmente, al progetto partecipano i DJ Walshy Fire e Ape Drums, che affiancano Diplo nella produzione e nelle performance live. Major Lazer ha contribuito a diffondere la musica dancehall elettronica in tutto il mondo, collaborando con artisti internazionali come Jillionaire, Bruno Mars, Travis Scott e Ellie Goulding. Tra le loro canzoni più rappresentative si ricordano "Lean On" (feat. MØ), "Cold Water" (feat. Justin Bieber e MØ) e "Run Up" (feat. PartyNextDoor e Nicki Minaj).
