You pay a fee to get a dog
You have to prove your home is suitable
But anyone can be a Dad
And your dysfunction was transmissible
I can't remember all I've seen
My body found a way to hide the hell
You violated boundaries
Now healthy boundaries feel like betrayal
Yeah! Come on! Yeah!
I am the Queen of flight or flight
My codependencies are multiple
I would never draw first blood
And if betrayed I'll give the cold shoulder for life
Midnight to three is when I feel the safest
My panic subsides
And my trauma erases
Most of my life I grew up on a fault line
So don't look surprised
That I can't fall asleep in the dark
Yeah! Come on! Yeah! Whoo! Come on!
Yeah! Whoo! Come on! Yeah! Alright!
I tried to build a mighty wall
I fortified it with charm and wit
Now there are things I can't recall
Cause you invaded it without consent at all
I was the master of control
I thought if I was God my luck would change
I could ascend above the clouds
But how was I to know one word could strike me down
Yeah! Come on! Yeah!
I am the King of freeze or fawn
My dissociation is statuesque
I can't maintain relationships
Unless there's something that's broke and can't be fixed
Midnight to three is when I feel the safest
My panic subsides
And my trauma erases
Most of my life I grew up on a fault line
So don't look surprised
That I can't fall asleep in the dark
You are of your Father and the lusts of the Father you will do
He was a murderer from the beginning and he abode not in the truth
Because there is no truth in him
When he speaketh the lie he speaketh of his own
For he is a liar and the father of all lies
I heard a voice from the clouds
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Come on!
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Take me by the hand and lead me to a land of foreign pleasure
Yeah! Come on! Yeah! Whoo! Come on!
Yeah! Whoo! Come on! Yeah! Whoo! Alright!
