Lame niggas try but it never came through for em
That’s what elementary child gangers do for
I guess I put the right words in the right order
Like father when he hit the right door
At the mall, couple bags for the new shoes
I wasn’t the type of nigga that she was used to
In the continental suite, sticky in the air
When we’re together the whole world seem to disappear
Your friends tell yo baby girl that they ain’t got no deal
I add to it, leave me waitin, never showin up
I tried to leave but something always brought me back
Baby girl, when we’re talkin too hooked up
(Chorus)
Now don’t you take this too personal
I won’t let you get emotional
But honey I know you don’t think
That you’re ready
We try to make this work for too long now
That you’re ready
And I don’t wanna hurt you too
(Verse)
I was struggling, was tryna be faithful, I can’t lie
You was struggling, tryna be with a nigga like me
We both had different visions of our later days
Life can make us swerve off the road, out the lane
I took it kinda fast, knew that we wouldn’t last
The strangers that we used to be is now off in the past
You tell me that you love e but sometimes I don’t believe ya
I show you that I love you and how much I wouldn’t need you
The good times and the bad times multiply
We’re still together and I know we both wonder why
That God they were something that just brought us little closer
I know you hear me talkin to you, baby girl hold up
(Chorus)
Now don’t you take this too personal
I won’t let you get emotional
But honey I know you don’t think
That you’re ready
We try to make this work for too long now
That you’re ready
And I would never hurt you girl
(Verse)
Let me hold you close, tell me what you thinkin bout
Open up your mouth and let that real deal spill out
Shared the good times, we was talkin bout your dreams
When the world shit, you know me, I don’t mouth plenty
Better what you wanted, yea you better believe it
The Bonnie to my Clyde, how can I make her deeper?
The big picture, what kind of glasses you need to see it?
You look like we hit our came lingered out and hold us
(Chorus)
Now don’t you take this too personal
I won’t let you get emotional
But honey I know you don’t think
That you’re ready
I don’t think you’re ready
That you’re ready
I know you want to be
