Forbidden è una band di thrash metal proveniente dalla San Francisco Bay Area, parte della scena thrash del Bay Area, più popolare alla fine degli anni '80 e all'inizio degli anni '90. Il loro stile iniziale era un thrash metal tecnico e in seguito la band ha incluso elementi alternativi nel loro album del 1997 intitolato *Green*. Considerati uno dei gruppi chiave della scena thrash californiana, Forbidden hanno influenzato numerose altre band con il loro sound aggressivo e le complesse strutture musicali. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano *'Chalice of Blood'* , *'Forbidden'*, e *'The Killing Game'*.
