August Burns Red è una band americana di metalcore proveniente da Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Formatasi nel marzo 2002, la band iniziò a esibirsi mentre la maggior parte dei membri era ancora alle scuole superiori e presto iniziò a suonare in locali attorno a Lancaster. Il nome della band deriva da un incidente che coinvolse il loro primo vocalist, Jon Hershey. Il gruppo ha raggiunto una grande popolarità nel genere metalcore grazie al suo sound aggressivo e tecnico, caratterizzato da riff di chitarra veloci e intricate, batteria potente e melodie melodiche.
