Royal Hunt è una band di metal progressivo danese fondata nel 1989 dal tastierista André Andersen. La band è nota per la sua musica melodica con un tocco progressivo e sinfonico. Ha attraversato diverse modifiche nella formazione nel corso degli anni, e recentemente ha acquisito il cantante Mark Boals, che ha sostituito l'ex vocalist John West. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Legacy", "Far Beyond the Sun" e "Prisoner of Paradise". L'album di debutto omonimo del 1991 è stato un successo immediato, consolidando la posizione della band nel panorama metal progressivo europeo.
