Acid Bath è stata una band di sludge metal americana proveniente da Houma, Louisiana, attiva dal 1991 al 1997. Il gruppo ha combinato le radici del doom metal con influenze provenienti dal black metal, death metal, hardcore e blues-rock. Il cantante Dax Riggs ha definito il loro sound come "death rock", riferendosi alla morte come tema dominante nei testi, piuttosto che al genere musicale deathrock, e ha anche classificato la musica della band come una fusione di stoner metal e doom metal. Acid Bath è considerata una delle band più influenti del movimento sludge metal, con un suono oscuro e pesante che ha ispirato numerose altre band nel corso degli anni. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "When the Kite String Pops", "Painkiller" e "The Devil's Playground".
