Thyrfing è una band di viking metal svedese, attiva dal 1998. Il nome del gruppo deriva da Tyrfing, la spada reale della mitologia norrena. La musica di Thyrfing si caratterizza per un sound potente e aggressivo, con influenze provenienti dal black metal e dal folk metal. I testi spesso trattano temi legati alla storia norrena, alla guerra e alla mitologia. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Hrafn", "Vinland" e "Sveriges Riddare". L'album di debutto, "The Fimbulwinter", risale al 2001. Nel corso degli anni, Thyrfing ha collaborato con altri artisti del genere viking metal, come Amon Amarth e Ensiferum.
