Michael Franti è un cantautore, poeta e produttore discografico statunitense nato il 21 aprile 1966. Di origini africane, nativo americane, irlandesi, francesi e tedesche, Franti è noto per la sua musica che fonde elementi di hip hop, reggae, rock e folk. Inizia la sua carriera negli anni '80 con il gruppo The Beatnigs, poi forma Spearhead nel 1994. Con Spearhead ha pubblicato numerosi album di successo, tra cui "Stay Human" (2006), "All People" (2009) e "The Sound of Sunshine" (2018). Le sue canzoni sono caratterizzate da testi politici e sociali che promuovono la pace, l'uguaglianza e la giustizia sociale. Franti è anche un attivista impegnato in diverse cause umanitarie.
