Moved out to LA got a two bedroom place
It was you and me for the first time
We were so cheap, got a couch from the street
Can't believe we thought it was so nice
You laughed when I drank too much wine
And I saw you through your darkest time
You hated that boy that I liked
And I've never said it but I knew you were right
I'd be somebody I'm not
If I was living without you
Always had my back
Been there like that
I know if I ever go off and burn it down
I'd still have you
You would go to hell and back for us
And so would I
Staying up late, couldn't sit in one place
Seeing what you dreamed about come true
You told the same jokes and I still laughed the most
Everything is changing except you
You still love when I drink too much wine
Keep me smiling through my lowest night
Now I hate that boy that I liked
And you were right, but only that one time
I'd be somebody I'm not
If I was living without you
Always had my back
Been there like that
I know if I ever go off and burn it down
I'd still have you
You would go to hell and back for us
And so would I
Always had my back
Been there like that
Always had my back
Been there like that
I know we both like
Keeping it light
But I got your back
Forever like that
I'd be somebody I'm not
If I was living without you
I know if I ever go off and burn it down
I'd still have you
I'd still have you
I'd be somebody I'm not
If I was living without you
Always had my back
Been there like that
I know if I ever go off and burn it down
I'd still have you
You would go to hell and back for us
And so would I
Always had my back
Been there like that
Always had my back
Been there like that
I know we both like
Keeping it light
But I got your back
Forever like that
