[Intro]
This goes out to everybody out there.
You know what I'm sayin'.
That's been through some struggles.
Or goin' through some struggles.
Somebody please.
That's right.
Gonna do it like this.
On a oldie though, yeah.
[Chorus]
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please, won't you help me.
[Verse 1]
Somebody please ask me why there's so much poverty, broken homes, false dreams of winning the lottery.
Society's messed up, corrupted through the life we live.
So much dissension, but there's something that I can give.
A piece of my mind through the lyrics that I write for you.
Things that make your ass rock, something I taught for you.
Soundin' true but the streets are in a rage.
I sat in my room, I say were locked in a cage.
It's a sunny day, Lisa's all alone.
Moms and dads workin' while she's talkin' on the phone.
Jimmy picks her up around a quarter to six.
Goin' to the movies, but they're really havin' sex.
Only 15 and she's pregnant with some twins.
While Jimmy gets locked up for killing his friend.
The twins grow up to be raised by the streets.
No help for the kids.
Ohh, somebody please.
[Chorus]
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please, won't you help me.
[Verse 2]
There's another story about a boy that's raised rough.
In the hood where he had to hang tough.
Outside with friends just laughin'.
When are car pulled up and just started blastin'.
So much screamin', the boy didn't even know his moms about to go, rushed to the hospital.
Police sirens loud but nowhere to be found.
No reports, this time I know he in that ghetto town.
Now he's 16, joined his local crew.
With his mother's name rest in peace tattooed.
Walkin' down the block instead of goin' to class.
He's pickin' up street knowledge and makin' cash.
The past makes it so, so he can't let it go.
A car rolls up and he lets the trigger go.
As soon as he sees its not who he thought it was.
Somebody's mothers like his own life she just lost.
[Chorus]
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please, won't you help me.
[Verse 3]
My last example is a guy named Rigo.
He works overtime just to feed his people.
They take him to the fields to work a tough job.
He don't have his papers so they take a percentage off,
His checks for all the hard shit and sweat.
He's workin' just to put a roof over his head.
And that's when the employer gives him a write-up.
They'll call the immigration if he doesn't accept the pay cut.
[Chorus]
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please, won't you help me.
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please
Somebody please, won't you help me.
