Those core negative beliefs really have everything to do with shame. "I'll never be successful," or "There's something wrong with me." It's about feeling defective and thinking that no matter what we do, we'll be never perfect
My mother's mother taught me well
My father's father burn in hell
I carry both like can't you tell
Their burdens share me like a cell (Watch me, watch me)
I want to grow up big and strong
My brother never steered me wrong
Except the one time that he did
So I don't blame him for that shit
I never cared for honesty
You really mean that, honestly?
I'd rather make you feel at ease
Than make you feel what's in between
Like tell me is this heaven's hell?
Like is this good for show and tell?
Like should I keep my soul or sell?
Love either way, I wish you well
Running a race without a finish line
Show me your pace, or are we out of time? (Watch me, watch me)
How could you face it?You're looking for changes
(I never really like it)
I been in and out the house for a minute
Drink the liquor 'til it's all gone
I don't care about the price when I'm in it
Hittin' life with the raw dog
I been seeing through the lines in the sentence
But the infrastructure all wrong
I been cutting down the rent for the tenants
Now we thuggin' outta St. Charles
[?]
Now we thuggin' outta St-St. Ch-Ch-Charles
[?]
Now we thuggin' outta St. (St. Charles)
Like tell me is this heaven's hell?
Like is this good for show and tell?
Like should I keep my soul or sell?
Love either way, I wish you well
I don't care what the price is
Need you when the night ends (Wish you well)
Spark up when the lights dim
I don't care what the price-price-price-price—
Know you don't want it, eyes open
That's what we call growing pains
Know you don't want it, eyes open
That's what we call growing pains (I don't care what the price is)
I don't care what the price is (I never really like it)
Running a race without a finish line
Show me your pace, or are we out of time? (Watch me, watch me)
How could you face it? (How could you face it?)
You're looking for changes (Looking for changes)
Bet there's something that's been on your mind (There's something)
Was there's something, something
Like tell me is this heaven's hell?
Like is this good for show and tell?
Like should I keep my soul or sell?
Love either way, I wish you well
Running in place, can't see the finish line
Cover my face, but I'm not tryna hide
What am I chasing?
The walls start to cave in (Watch me, watch me)
There's still something I've been trying to find
There's still something, something
Like tell me is this heaven's hell?
Like is this good for show and tell?
Like should I keep my soul or sell?
Love either way, I wish you well
