Kool Keith, pseudonimo di Keith Matthew Thornton, è un rapper e produttore discografico statunitense nato a New York nel 1964. Considerato uno dei pionieri dell'hip hop sperimentale, Kool Keith si distingue per il suo stile rap eccentrico, caratterizzato da rime intricate, flow innovativo e testi surreali che spaziano dalla fantascienza al horror. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '80 con il gruppo Ultramagnetic MCs, contribuendo a definire l'estetica del jazz rap. Dopo aver lasciato il gruppo, ha avviato una prolifica carriera solista, pubblicando album come "Sex Style" (1996), "Dr. Octagon" (1996) e "Black Elvis/Lost in Space" (2003). Kool Keith è noto per le sue collaborazioni con artisti come DJ Premier, Dan the Automator e MF DOOM. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Bomb", "Space Is The Place" e "Dr. Octagon's Theme".
