AFI (acronimo di A Fire Inside) è una band punk rock statunitense formatasi in California nel 1991. I membri fondatori sono il vocalist Davey Havoc, il chitarrista Mark Stopholese, il batterista Adam Carson e il bassista Vic Chalker, che fu poi sostituito da Geoff Kresge e successivamente da Hunter Burgan. AFI ha attraversato diverse fasi musicali, iniziando con un sound hardcore punk per poi evolvere verso sonorità più dark e melodrammatiche influenzate dal gothic rock e dall'industrial. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Miss Murder", "The Leaving Song Pt. II" e "Silver and Cold". L'album *Sing the Sorrow* (2003) è considerato uno dei loro lavori più importanti, grazie al successo di singoli come "Girl's Not Grey" e "Death of Seasons".
