Lars Frederiksen and The Bastards è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 2001 da Lars Frederiksen, chitarrista e cantante dei Rancid. Il progetto nasce come una sorta di outlet per l'artista, che con i Bastards esplora sonorità più punk rock e meno influenzate dal reggae e dall'ska tipici del sound dei Rancid. Frederiksen si avvale di un gruppo di musicisti provenienti dalla scena punk californiana, creando un suono potente e diretto, caratterizzato da riff aggressivi e testi che affrontano temi come la disillusione sociale, l'alienazione e la rabbia giovanile. Tra i brani più rappresentativi del gruppo figurano "The Ballad of the Bastards", "I Don't Wanna Be Your Friend" e "California Dreamin'". Sebbene non abbiano raggiunto lo stesso successo dei Rancid, Lars Frederiksen and The Bastards hanno conquistato un seguito fedele tra gli appassionati di punk rock.
