Marillion è un gruppo musicale britannico di rock progressivo formatosi ad Aylesbury nel 1977. La formazione originale comprendeva Steve Hogarth (voce), Mark Kelly (tastiere), Pete Trewavas (basso) e Ian Mosley (batteria). Il loro sound, caratterizzato da melodie intricate, testi poetici e un'atmosfera spesso malinconica, ha conquistato un seguito fedele nel corso degli anni. Dopo il successo del primo album, *Script for a Jester's Tear* (1983), la band ha attraversato diverse fasi di evoluzione, con cambiamenti nella formazione e sperimentazioni musicali.
