Luke Kelly (Lúcás Ó Ceallaigh), nato il 17 novembre 1940 a Dublino e morto il 30 gennaio 1984 nella stessa città, è stato un cantante e musicista irlandese di genere folk. Considerato uno dei più grandi interpreti della musica tradizionale irlandese, Kelly è noto per la sua voce potente e il suo carisma sul palco. Insieme a Ronnie Drew, ha cofondato The Dubliners nel 1962, gruppo che ha raggiunto un successo internazionale portando avanti la tradizione musicale irlandese. Kelly si è distinto per l'interpretazione di canzoni tradizionali come "The Wild Rover" e "Seven Drunken Nights", ma ha anche composto brani originali come "The Fields of Athenry". La sua musica ha contribuito a diffondere la cultura irlandese in tutto il mondo, diventando un simbolo della tradizione musicale del suo paese. Kelly è morto prematuramente all'età di 43 anni a causa di una malattia. Il suo lascito musicale rimane vivo e continua ad ispirare generazioni di musicisti.
