Dashboard Confessional è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1998 a Gainesville, Florida. Il progetto nacque come attività parallela di Chris Carrabba, già frontman della band Further Seems Forever. Il primo album, *Swiss Army Romance* (2000), fu un lavoro principalmente solista, ma con il successo del disco, Carrabba formò una formazione completa per l'album successivo, *The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most* (2001). Il gruppo raggiunse la notorietà internazionale con l'album MTV Unplugged del 2002, certificato platino. Successivamente, Dashboard Confessional pubblicò altri album di successo come *A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar* (2003) e *Dusk and Summer* (2006), entrambi arrivati al secondo posto nella classifica Billboard statunitense. Nel 2007, il gruppo tornò alle sonorità acustiche con l'album *The Shade of Poison Trees*. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Dashboard Confessional figurano: "Hands Down", "Screaming Infidelities", "The Sharp Hint of New Tears", "Don't Wait" e "Stolen".
